3rd Fosterversary Puppy Update!

On December 14th, 2025, we celebrated our 3rd anniversary of fostering puppies! In 2025, we fostered 17 puppies and 1 mama, a lot less than the 37 and 1 mama we fostered in 2024. I don’t think we will ever top the 51 puppies and 1 mama we fostered our first year! It was a lot! Over the past 3 years, we have fostered a total of 105 puppies and 3 mama dogs through Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups.

Below are updates on the puppies and mama dogs we fostered in 2024, our second year of fostering. The puppies are all grown up into happy, loved dogs. ๐Ÿ’•

Merry, Kris and Kringle
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Mila (Merry) and her brothers, Tucker (Kris) and Theo (Kringle) were part of a litter of nine that were dropped off at a dog warden at just four weeks old, far too young to be separated from their mama. Ideally, Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups would have taken in both the mama dog and her puppies, fostering them all until the mama was fixed and returned. Unfortunately, that wasnโ€™t possible in this case.

Here’s their story when they were our fosters -> Merry, Kris and Kringle

Mila (Merry)

Mila’s Dad says she could not be any sweeter. She doesn’t know a stranger, dog or human. She likes to think she owns the bed. ๐Ÿ’•

Tucker (Kris)

Tuckers’ Dad says he is his best buddy and goes with him everywhere. He has his own couch at the shop where they work. He is 70 pounds, still full of energy and loves to play with his dog friend for hours at a time.

Theo (Kringle)

Theo loves to play frisbee, go on walks, and car rides! He is very loved! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Dottie & Oscar
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

When we got Dottie and Oscar they were hungry. Puppies are always hungry after travel from Kentucky but these guys were really hungry and thin and at first had food aggression. They loved playing outside and always looked so cute in their little coats and sweaters. Here’s more of their foster story -> Dottie & Oscar

We fostered Dottie and Oscar for two weeks before they moved to another foster home while we were out of town. From there, they went to Friendship APL and were quickly adopted! We donโ€™t have any contact information for their new families, so if you recognize these sweet pups, please comment on this post!

Bolt & Flash
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

We fostered Flash and Bolt during Halloween, so of course we dressed them up to join the Trickโ€‘orโ€‘Treat fun. They were a huge hit with the kids. Hereโ€™s more about our time fostering them ->Flash and Bolt

Drako (Bolt)

Drako was the best boy. When we fostered him, he struggled to see out of his one eye. At first, we thought he was just blind in that eye, but it turned out to be something much more serious. He developed seizures that grew worse over time, and he crossed over the rainbow bridge. It broke all of our hearts. His mom and dad did everything they possibly could and loved him so much. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Even though his life was far too short, it was filled with love. His mom, dad, and furโ€‘brother adored him and gave him the very best life. The photos below are just a few that show how deeply he was loved.

Flash

Flash’s mom say he is great!! He is very sweet and loves to cuddle.

Willow, Petey & Freckles
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Willow, Petey and Freckles were 3 months when they came to us from Kentucky. A little older than we usually foster. From the time we got them they were very sweet and affectionate. Here’s more of their story during the time we fostered them -> Willow, Petey & Freckles

Willow

Willow’s Mom says she is great. She has a big personality and has to be the center of attention.

Loki (Petey)

Loki’s mom says it has been an adventure with him for sure! And she loves it! When they first met, Loki walked right up to her and snuggled. It took him a little time to adjust to his new home, like all puppies, but now he loves to snuggle!

Monty (Freckles)

Monty’s mom writes, “So this is our guy Monty. Heโ€™s the perfect mix of playful and chill. Loves to chase a ball and play with other dogs, but his favorite is hanging with his humans, whether โ€˜helpingโ€™ his brothers play video games or snuggling on the couch, heโ€™s up for it. He loves wearing hoodies and never met a blanket he didnโ€™t like! We recently moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family, so he is loving all the snow too! Heโ€™s the sweetest and the perfect addition for us! โค๏ธ”

Edna, Frasier & Niles
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Edna reminded us of Eddy on the TV show Frasier so we named her Edna and her brothers became Niles and Frasier. They immediately got along with our kitten Boots. Here’s more of their foster story -> Edna, Frasier & Niles

Edna

Edna’s Mom says she is such a wonderful addition to their family. She is funny, sweet, and very smart. Edna is very protective of her family as well as the rest of her pack. She always makes it known when she is in the room. The entire family is so thankful for Edna.

Burton (Frasier)
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Burton goes to work with his mom when it’s not too bad outside. She says he is perfect, and everyone loves him. He is a good boy, and he keeps us very entertained

Bruno (Niles)
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Nile’s mom calls him “Our too-big Bruno โ˜บ๏ธ.” She says he loves his doggy sister, any food he can find anywhere, belly rubs, and snoring.

Shyanne & Her Gilligan’s Island Puppies
Gilligan, Skipper, Professor, Mary Ann, Ginger, Thurston & Lovey
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Shyanne came to us from Kentucky on Sunday, May 5th. She looked so pregnant that we were sure sheโ€™d deliver during transport, but she surprised us and waited eleven more days! On Thursday, May 16th, she spent over 13 hours bringing seven beautiful puppies into the world. We named them after the Gilliganโ€™s Island cast since she had three girls and four boys, just like the show. Here are several posts from our adventure with Shyanne and her pups -> Shyanne & Her Gilligan’s Island Puppies

Shyanne

Shyanne’s mom says, “She can work a treat button like she didn’t just have a meal, and uses her outside button when she needs it โค๏ธ What can I say for an update about Shyanne without writing a book? She gets along with everyone from her two cat roommates (one lets her interact with him if he doesn’t give a half hearted swat, the other one allows her to groom him, meowing when she gets too rough) to all of my grandkids, to her niece and nephew dogs that she has to yell at sometimes when she just can’t take anymore of their shenanigans, to trusting me enough to be my sidekick on every adventure I come up with or staying by my side for days if I’m sick. She uses her calm manner to show she isn’t a threat. Shyanne is everything I needed from a dog and so much more.”

Maverick (Gilligan)

Maverick’s mom says he is doing great, super playful and loves playing with his brother Apollo. He is Apollo’s “favorite person”.

Oreo (Skipper)

Oreo’s dad says heโ€™s doing very good. He never likes being alone so he always follows one of them around, no matter what. They now have an older dog friend that he loves.

Lincoln (Professor)

Lincoln’s mom says heโ€™s the best boy! He has such beautiful markings and eyes. He is very loved. ๐Ÿ’•

Winnie (Mary Ann)

Winnie’s dad says she is doing awesome and is extremely smart. She would play ball all day if she could.

Paisley (Ginger)

Paisley’s mom and dad say she is an energetic and kind-hearted companion who is incredibly smart and really funny. She loves her family, taking walks, running in the woods and on the beach, and she loves the cold and snow. She also loves getting treats, taking naps, and getting lots of cuddles. Paisley is truly an awesome dog!

Abe (Thurston)

Abe’s family says heโ€™s so amazing, fun, loving, and happy.

Eunice (Lovey)

Lovey’s mom says she is doing great. She lives up to her name and gives lots of love 24/7! She has an ability to play fetch all day long if she could!

Taco, Belle and Nacho
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Taco, Belle, and Nacho were found abandoned in a box. When we got them, they were thin, hungry, and showing signs of food aggression. The pads of their feet were burned, likely from standing in urine. Over time, their food aggression went away and paws healed up. Hereโ€™s more of the story of these sweet and funny puppies. -> Taco, Belle and Nacho

Simon (Taco)

Simon’s mom says he is an amazing young man. He is a gentle soul with tons of curiosity. His days start with eating his delicious kibble and exploring outside for squirrels and birds. Then off to the dog park to chill with friends, but more importantly, impress his fan club. Simon has extraordinary ball skills, throw as high as you can and he catches it, throw as far as you can and he leaps at least 4 feet in the air to catch it. Or throw a big bounce and he jumps so high to catch the ball in mid air – people come just to watch his athletic abilities. At night, Simon heads uptown to the square to catch his favorite bands. He loves walking around, meeting new human friends that tell him how good-looking he is, and some snuggles. The best is all the bushes with the wonderful aroma of all the other dogs he gets to smell. Then off to bed to dream about his life as a Florida dog in “The Villages”.

Dolly (Belle)

Dolly’s mom says she is such a wonderful little dog. Still a little nervous about car rides, but gets over it quickly, especially when she goes someplace fun like Paws (her doggie daycare). She has tons of energy, but sheโ€™s a happy, sweet girl. When she gets a chance to run off-leash she looks like a gazelle. ๐Ÿ˜Š She loves her older sister Sally, who is 11 1/2. Sally loves it when Dolly goes to daycare (she gets a little break from all that energy lol).

Nacho
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Nacho’s mom says their family decided to keep his foster name, because they thought it was just too cute! He weighs about 65lbs and is a lovable, cuddly dog who brings joy to everyone he meets. He loves treats, golf cart rides, and chasing squirrels, and heโ€™s always excited to make new dog friends. Whether heโ€™s playing ball with his family, soaking up belly or head rubs, or just being his silly self, Nachoโ€™s happy spirit and sweet personality make him impossible not to love.

Bella & Bruno
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

While we had Bella and Bruno, our granddaughter built them a PVC puppy toy hanger. They loved playing ball and hanging out with our dog, Aunt Lily. Hereโ€™s more of their foster story -> Bella & Bruno

Maggie (Bella)

Maggie’s mom says sheโ€™s doing well! She loves playing with her big brother, Bruce, and BFF (Best Friend Forever), Buckeye. Her favorite game is โ€œBallโ€, and sheโ€™s very good at fetching. Sheโ€™s a big-time snuggler. They are so happy to have her in their home.

Smokey (Bruno)

Smokey’s mama says he is doing great, and he is such a good boy. He weighs 40 pounds now!

Sparkles, Spot & Ferdinand
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

We brought home all six puppies from Sparkles, Spot, and Ferdinand’s litter and kept three overnight until another foster picked them up the following day. Having six puppies at once was a lot of work, but they were all so cute together. Here’s more of their story-> Sparkles, Spot, Ferdinand, Cole, Petey & Cammie

Bailey (Sparkles)

Bailey’s mom says she is doing great! Still a sweetheart ๐Ÿ’• She has a lot of friends in the neighborhood to play with. She and her mom spend a lot of time enjoying life together.

Spot

Spot’s mom says he is the best family dog they could ask for, weighing in at a whopping 68 pounds! He has a heart of gold yet is extremely protective of his pack. Spot just became therapy certified and has been visiting residents at nursing homes, bringing happiness to everyone he meets. She says Spot was the best decision we ever made and we are so grateful for the love you put into him before we were able to adopt him.

Capone (Ferdinand)

Capone’s mom says he is doing great! They got him a dog brother named Cash; he already had two cat brothers. Adding another dog has really helped because he always wanted to play with the cats, and they did not want to play!

Charlie & Dexter
๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

Charlie and Dexter were cute little Hound/Beagle mix. They were goofy and clutzy and had the cutest faces! Here’s their foster story -> Charlie and Dexter

Charlie

Charlie was adopted by a couple who decided having a puppy was more work than they expected, so they found him a new home. Puppies are a lot of work, and we always try to make sure potential adopters understand that. We do our best to share anything they should know about our foster puppies or mama dogs, such as behavioral quirks or special needs, and we try to provide information to help make it easier for the new puppy or mama dog to settle into their new home.

If rehoming is necessary, we always prefer that the puppies be returned to us so we can ensure theyโ€™re placed in a loving, committed home. In Charlieโ€™s case, it sounds like he ended up in a happy home with kids to play with.

Dexter

Dexter ended up going to Friendship APL and was adopted from there. He was such a sweet boy, we are sure he was adopted right away. If you know anything about Dexter, please comment on this post!
