For our stop in Mykonos, we did the “Scenic Views of Mykonos” excursion. This was another location we had to take tender boats into the port. The dock was fairly close and the tendering went fairly smoothly.
We boarded the bus and drove past windmills, white houses and churches with their colorful blue and red domes. A house with green doors and windows really stood out on the landscape of white-washed buildings. We made a quick stop at Kalafatis Beach for some photo ops, but didn’t have enough time to test out the waters.
We then headed to the center of the island and visited the village of Ano Mera and the Monastery Panayia Tourliani. While in Ano Mera, we drank some ouzo and had a few Greek appetizers in the square of the village.
We then headed back to the port to puruse their shopping district before grabing some lunch at Mosaic. It was a little fancier and the meals a little more elaborate than we planned, but the view of the ocean was beautiful from the deck and the cool breeze was refreshing. A quick stop by the beach to cool off, then back to the dock to tender to the ship.
